……….SIGN UP for Welcoming New Voices – Thursday 11 Jan 2024 7.15-9pm
SING Devon is a Community Choir meeting regularly on Thursday evenings in Plymouth – learning and singing uplifting songs in a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There are no auditions – we’re open to anyone and everyone who wants to sing. Whether you’re an experienced singer, or even if you’re daunted by the idea of singing in a group, we’d love to meet you.
Some videos of us in performance (please use some decent headphones):
Mary’s Boy Child (Boney M)
Mbube (Soloman Linda) (original Zulu version of ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’)
Scarborough Fair/Canticle (Paul Simon)
Wings Of A Dove (Madness)
Love Rescue Me (Bob Dylan)
SING till you ZING!
I know you are busy – most of us are these days. But we all need something to revitalize us. Something that reconnects us with the sheer joy of being alive.
Singing with other people is like that. There’s a ‘zing’ that happens. No-one knows quite why – maybe it’s harmonies coming together, or people being in a certain mood – but sometimes you just light up inside – and it’s the most gorgeous feeling!
That’s mostly why we do it really!
Led by Pete Scott
My job is to use the music to help all of us feel good together. Singing as one voice is mostly about feeling involved in the sound. Every voice has a part to play – that’s where the fun is!
(Striving for perfection, can come later)
